Experience

Ryan is a Partner in the Richmond office practicing in a variety of areas including transportation law, construction law, employment law, personal injury and workers compensation, railroad/FELA defense and general liability defense. He defends clients in the transportation industry and other industries against employment discrimination claims brought under federal and state laws. This includes Title VII, the Americans with Disabilities Act, and whistleblower claims under the FRSA. Ryan has specific experience with a trucking association matters, while also representing many trucking association members on issues regarding regulatory compliance and liability defense. His practice also encompasses defense of product manufacturers and other companies against personal injury and property damage claims.

Ryan previously served as an Assistant Attorney General for the Attorney General’s Office in Richmond, Virginia, representing judges, police offers, universities and other state officials in tort claims and civil rights claims arising under 42 U.S.C. § 1983.
